The HGV 3a test, also known as the Category C+E test, is a pivotal step in Carl’s journey towards becoming an expert in handling larger and more complex commercial vehicles. This test assesses a candidate’s ability to operate articulated lorries, commonly referred to as “artics,” with precision, safety, and confidence. It is a comprehensive evaluation of various critical driving skills.
During the HGV 3a test, candidates are evaluated on the following key areas:
- Vehicle Control: Candidates must demonstrate precise control over the articulated lorry, including steering, braking, and maneuvering.
