Chloe’s success marks another confident and competent driver joining the ranks of HGV professionals through our nationally recognised driver training programme. The Category C+E (or Class 1) licence allows drivers to operate articulated lorries — and Chloe now holds one of the most in-demand qualifications in the logistics industry.

The 3b test forms the on-road driving element of the HGV test and follows part 3a, which covers reversing and coupling/uncoupling where applicable. Since the DVSA’s updates to the HGV test in 2021, the process is now split into these two key parts — allowing drivers like Chloe to demonstrate their practical skills step-by-step in a more efficient and focused way.
