What Does the CE 3b Test Involve?

The CE 3b test is the final stage in obtaining a Category CE (Class 1) licence, allowing drivers to operate articulated lorries. The test focuses on real-world driving performance, including:

  • 🚛 Road awareness and hazard perception
  • 🚛 Use of mirrors, signals, and safe manoeuvring
  • 🚛 Junction and roundabout handling
  • 🚛 Speed control and progress
  • 🚛 10 minutes of independent driving under test conditions

To pass, drivers must make no serious or dangerous faults and no more than 12 minor faults. Henry completed his test first time, demonstrating confidence, technical skill, and excellent preparation throughout.
