Support staff and teachers within schools who drive minibuses require minibus training relevant to their use of D1 vehicles (minibuses with 10 seats or more including the driving seat – see https://www.gov.uk/driving-a-minibus for details). For those who hold the D1 licence due to passing their driving test prior to 1997, they will have a 101 exclusion, which means that in order to drive as part of their job they may be required to take the DSA’s D1 driving test.
All of our category D1 trainers have years of experience as drivers themselves, and are able to prepare their clients not just for the DSA test, but for the job itself. For drivers who have already passed the D1 test, regular refresher training is recommended and we can provide all modules of the MIDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) course.
So if you need your teachers, teaching assistants or support staff to be safe and legal, contact us about our Minibus Training. With discounts for schools and educational bodies, we can provide the best value training available.
